Spring selling season bypasses Licking County housing market

Are you looking for a home in Licking County? Well, you better act fast and act now- because it looks like the housing market in this county has no plans of crashing anytime soon! We're here to talk about what many of you had heard about, the home market crash in the US. As it turns out, it hasn’t happened locally. In fact, there are currently only 25 homes listed for sale in the entire county. Only 1 is priced under 100k. So what's going on here? We're actually in the middle of the 2023 spring selling season, a prime time for buyers to find excellent deals in the real estate market. But in Licking County, it looks like these deals simply don't exist. As interest rates have increased, the owners that would normally sell their houses are sitting on the sidelines. A lot of this can be attributed to the ultra low interest rates that many of the current owners are locked into. They have a little incentive to buy a more expensive house so their existing house is held off the market. As the recession takes hold, don’t expect more inventory anytime soon.
